Shoot 1 - Used Materials

These images are from the first shoot I have done. I chose to look at the waste products I use when I take my makeup off from the day. I have make up remover wipes, cotton pads and cotton puds that are covered in makeup. I chose to firstly photograph these with a white background and highly lit. I wanted to photograph them in a still life style. I dropped the products in no specific place, and photographed them from all angles to see the patterns I could create.

I found that when cropping into the images, it becomes unclear what the images are. As well as making something I have thrown away, look beautiful in some way. For example, the crumbled wipes looking like the shape of flowers. I want to further explore this idea, and research some artist. The idea that someones waste could be come something beautiful, is something I want to further explore.

With my target audience being mainly young girls, I feel this idea would appeal to them. All girls who wear make up, have to take it off at some point. I don't think anyone, including myself thinks about how we were make up for day, then take it off to apply again the next day. How does make up make the average girl who wears it feel? How would they feel if they went out without it, and used a wipe to remove. I want to explore this idea also, and ask girls around my won age what they think.
